Power options to suit your install

Mirror tap

Piggyback the 12V feed already running to your powered rearview mirror. Spade plugs and back probes included - no cutting, fully reversible.

Ground Loop + 12V Bare Wire

A 2.5m cable - 3m including the receiver wire - with a soldered ring-terminal ground loop and a stripped 12V lead, made for fuse taps and switched 12V sources inside the cabin.

Braided sleeving (optional)

Not a power option - a finish upgrade. Add braided sleeving to either kit for a cleaner cable run.

One mount, your rules

Every install is different.

Every car's electrical system is different, so every RAD MAG powered mount gives you the choice: tap the 12V feed at your mirror, or run a fuse tap from the cabin fuse box. Every powered receiver now ships with a D2 quick disconnect fitted, so the choice isn't permanent - swap leads later without touching the wiring at the mount.

We stock fuse taps too, and braided sleeving if you want the tidier look. If you're not sure which to go with, message us - we'll do our best to help.

Not sure which? If your mirror is powered and confirmed 12V, go mirror tap. Anything else - hardwire it with a fuse tap. Either way you're not locked in: the quick disconnect lets you change your mind later.

D2 quick disconnect, fitted as standard

Every powered receiver now ships with a D2 connector already attached to the receiver tail. Changed your mind on how you take power, or moving the mount to another car? Unplug one connector and plug in the other lead - no rewiring, no cutting, nothing to unsolder.

Your kit includes one power lead - the option you chose at checkout. The second lead is sold separately if you want to run both, or switch from one to the other.

Switched 12V only

Wire to a source that switches off with the ignition - a constant live feed will drain your battery overnight. Mirror tapping? Confirm the feed is actually 12V before you connect.
