Wiring Guide — 4-Pin Smart Remote Mute Cable

Rad Mag NZ powered detector mount — select your detector brand below

Your Rad Mag NZ mount uses a standard RJ11 plug and 4-pin pogo connector. Pin assignments differ by brand — select your detector below. P3 (Red, +12V) and P4 (Black, GND) are always the same; only P2 and P5 change.

Mute circuit: Yellow (P2) → [button] → Black/GND (P4). Momentary short = mute. No active components needed.
04 — Notes
  • P3=Red=+12V and P4=Black=GND never change between brands.
  • P2=Yellow=Mute  |  P5=White=Alert LED output.
  • Male pogo (mount) L–R: Black → Yellow → White → Red.
  • Female pogo (detector) L–R: Red → White → Yellow → Black.
  • Do NOT use Escort cable — P2 and P5 are swapped between brands.
⚠ Warning: Uniden and Escort cables look identical but are NOT interchangeable. P2=Mute/P5=Alert on Uniden — opposite on Escort.

04 — Notes
  • P3=Red=+12V and P4=Black=GND never change between brands.
  • P2=Yellow=ESP  |  P5=White=ESP. Both wires required for phone accessories.
  • Male pogo (mount) L–R: Black → Yellow → White → Red.
  • Female pogo (detector) L–R: Red → White → Yellow → Black.
  • Do NOT connect Escort/Uniden wires to V1 ESP pins.
⚠ Warning: NEVER connect a 4-pin Escort/Uniden harness to the V1 ESP port. Shorting the data pins may permanently damage your detector.
